Snatched: Why the Enemy is After Your Agreement

Snatched: Why the Enemy is After Your Agreement

As I prepared to close my Bible study notebook, I was struck by a notepad page taped inside and felt compelled to read it. There they were—my notes from a sermon by Pastor Darby titled Seed of Suicide.

After re-reading them, I knew the Holy Spirit was prompting me to share them. I decided to send them out as an email, even though they didn't quite fit my current theme. For 2026, I have been writing a weekly email to align with the scriptures we study live, and this felt like a detour.

But with a heart of obedience, I typed the notes anyway. If He told me to do it, I was going to do it. As I got ready to close the notes app on my phone, I thought, “This sermon really reminds me of the Parable of the Sower.” I turned back through my journal to find my recent notes on that study, and sure enough, the parable is found in Matthew 13.

Can you guess which scripture we were already scheduled to study the very week I wrote that email? Matthew 13.

I just said, “Only God.” I truly cannot make this up. To some, that might seem like a small coincidence, but for me, it was a powerful confirmation. I chose to share these notes out of obedience even when it didn't align with my "plan," and He was so faithful that He made it all line up perfectly. It is a beautiful reminder that you can trust God with your plans; His are always better.

Anyway, let’s get back to why we’re here: the sermon notes. I watched this message twice because it was such a blessing, and I knew I needed to write it down.

I pray today that these words unlock something in your understanding and strengthen your faith so that you can withstand the fiery darts of the enemy. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Sermon Notes

“When anyone hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what has been sown in his heart. This is what was sown along the path.”Matthew 13:19 (ESV)

Satan is on standby, ready to snatch the Word of God from you. Because he does not have dominion in this world, he requires your agreement. Here are the key takeaways I wrote down:

  • God’s way is preventative: He seeks to keep the enemy's seeds from being sown in your heart.

  • Faith is belief: It is our primary shield.

  • Satan’s belief system is doubt: If seeds of doubt are left unchallenged, they will germinate.

  • Belief is agreement: Satan is after your agreement, which is why he plants specific thoughts in your mind.

Pastor Ewing’s teaching on how unbelief opens the door to delusion is also incredibly powerful and fits perfectly with this theme.

Consider this your reminder to stay thirsty for the Word of God. Keep seeking Him. His Word is what enables you to recognize and reject the seeds the enemy tries to plant.

Don’t just think it—write it down.

If the enemy is after your agreement, it’s time to put your "Yes" to God in writing. Use our Bible Study and Prayer Journals to document the truth and keep your mind stayed on Him. Every page is a battleground where you take back your ground.
